- Unreadable possibly
- A card that can be read by the viewer but has significant damage, scuffs, possible deep lines or folds.
- Still a Playable card but no good for collecting.
- Little value unless one of a kind.
Cards in Lightly Played (LP) condition may show minor edge wear, scuffing, or light scratches. However, they should not have any major flaws or structural damage. Visible imperfections are acceptable, provided they are neither severe nor overly numerous.
Lightly Played condition encompasses cards that display a small number of minor imperfections, whether just a few or slightly more in quantity.
Cards in Near Mint or BETTER (NM/BETTER) condition show minimal signs of wear from shuffling, play, or handling. They typically have a clean surface, sharp corners, and smooth edges, with only a few slight imperfections. A Near Mint card may exhibit light edge wear or a couple of minor surface scratches but should appear nearly unplayed and free of any major flaws.
Some manufacturing defects—such as miscuts or being off-center severely—may disqualify a card from being considered Near Mint, even if it shows no wear. These cards would be categorized as Damaged.
The NM/BETTER condition includes cards that are virtually flawless as well as those with only minimal, minor imperfections.
Special note on NM/BETTER Cards
To give you an idea our NM/BETTER graded cards should net you at worst a PSA 8. Most of the time, you should net PSA 9 to PSA 10. These cards have been inspected and graded as such. NM/BETTER are the cards you want in your binder as a collector when buying from us.
IMPORTANT: Once the single card is graded in-house, it is penny sleeved, put into a top loader and placed into a top loader sleeve and sealed! We then label the rear with the condition. During shows, we do not allow removal of the sealed cards for inspection of the cards at the table as cards are pre-graded. There are no returns/refunds for single cards once purchased from our website or show table.
